Two informational meetings to be held by state on Consumers for early termination on Palisades
LANSING — The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) has scheduled two informational public meetings on Consumers Energy’s proposal for an early termination of its Palisades power purchase agreement.
Consumers is proposing to end its agreement with Entergy Nuclear Palisades LLC and for potential financial securitization in what the MPSC lists as "Case No. U-18250.
The meetings will allow officials from the MPSC to inform the public about its role, the timeline and the administrative process to be followed. A public comment period will also take place.
The two public meetings are scheduled to be held at the Van Buren Conference Center in Lawrence. The conference center is located at 490 S. Paw Paw Street. The first meeting will take place from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. The second meeting, which will cover the same material, is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
All three MPSC commissioners will participate and an administrative law judge will preside. A press release from the MPSC said a transcript of the public meeting will be filed in the docket.
